Everything is relative.

Sure, you might not like Sam Altman much. But have you considered how you’d feel about him if your other option was a day spent with Elon Musk?

ayamaya:

To paraphrase John Mulaney: For years scientists have wondered “Can Sam Altman actually appear sympathetic and likeable to the average person?” And the answer is yes, as long as he is preceded by 5 hours of Elon Musk talking.

The new compact steadicam doesn’t do much the Pocket 3 can’t, but it improves on nearly all of it.

A whole Galaxy just for France.

Samsung has announced the Galaxy Book 6 Edge, but so far only for France. There’s no price for the slim laptop yet, which will launch in early May with 512GB or 1TB storage, a Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Elite processor, and a 16-inch 120Hz OLED screen.

Do not build the Torment Nexus.

Even — especially? — when it’s shaped like a frog.

Samsung leaks confirmation of its own smart glasses.

Yesterday we got our first good look at the purported design of Samsung’s smart glasses, and today Samsung itself confirmed they’re on the way, though it probably didn’t mean to. SamMobile spotted a mention of support for “Glasses” in an update to Samsung’s Nearby Device Scanning app, mentioning quick pair support too.

The Clicks Communicator will ship at the end of the year.

Droid Life reports that potential buyers who’d reserved the upcoming BlackBerry-ish Android phone were just told to expect the phone to ship in Q4 this year. First announced at CES, the Communicator is a fully-fledged phone with a physical keyboard, a big step up from Clicks’ current line of keyboard cases.

A question of taste.

Is a multicolor smart ceiling light / LED screen a fun way to liven up your living room, or an all-out assault on good taste? Every household has to make that choice for themselves.

stable_genius_hatter:

It’s too bad my wife has such refined taste, because I love this stuff.

Now Android users can wait for Tesla Robotaxis too.

Eight months after the iOS app launched, Tesla has released an Android version of its Robotaxi app. The service expanded to Houston and Dallas last week, but still seems to only have a small number of vehicles actually on the road.

A strong scientific background.

Gwyneth Paltrow doesn’t seem to know what a peptide is, which might not entirely surprise you.

Electric Mayhem:

Color me shocked that the person who puts lemon juice in their alkaline water might not have an intuitive grasp of biology.

Our first look at Alien: Isolation’s sequel.

In 2024 Creative Assembly announced a followup to the only game that has ever made me genuinely freeze in fear. A year and half later, yesterday’s “Alien day” (4/26, get it?) brought us a brief first look. We don’t see much, but it looks like this time we might be going planetside.
